  I’m trying to put my Grandfather’s diary onto my blog, and the dates are from the 1940s. I can change the date of the post and change the date published, but then the published date is wrong. I’ve searched the forums about using historical dates but all the responses are from 2008, 2010 – have there been any upgrades to allow historic diaries to be correctly dated?

  This should be doable: they did it for George Orwell’s diaries.

  I don’t understand, though. You say you want to change the date published, but then you are concerned the published date is “wrong.” Isn’t that exactly what you want to do?

  I think perhaps my recordkeeping background wants to be too purist and have a separation from the actual date of publication and the date that I want to show. Maybe I just need to relax about it?
