Hits from WordPress Dashboard

I’ve got a relatively new blog (about three weeks old) that I post on daily. Typically I get about 150 views per day. Yesterday, however, a friend of mine with a pretty successful site (http://aboulet.com) blogged about my site and linked prominently, which pushed a lot of traffic my way and upped my view count to about 450 for the last two days.

On my blog stats, I usually get maybe 3 hits from “WordPress Dashboard”, but starting yesterday, when the rest of my traffic started to increase, I’ve started getting around 60-70 hits from the dashboard. My question is: where are those hits actually coming from? What is someone clicking on the dashboard that is sending them to my site and why did the volume increase so much from that source?

Thanks for the help. I’ve been really impressed with these forums since I started my blog.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hits from a dashboard can come from people who “subscribe” to your blog at wordpress, or come from the Tag surfer, or from their “my comments”, anywhere in their dashboard.
    .
Basically, Wp users click on the link in their Dashboard and come to your blog…It registers as “dashbaord in your stats.

I have to say 60-70 of these regularly on a blog that gets 450 sounds unusually high.

I think I figured out where they were coming from. I was listed as the #27 Blog to Watch for Feb 3, so I think that’s where all those hits came from.

    Thanks for the help.
