HMTL5 Audio Player Problem
-
I have been subscribing to the main thread on this topic but you have asked for problems to be posted separately if they are not resolved and you will come back to us individually.
My problem is that when I try to place the new audio player BELOW existing audio material is removes some of the existing material on that page.
You can see what I mean by going to this page: http://stpaulrepository.com/lent-eastertide-year-a/
If you then look at the page in EDIT format, you will see that many of the recordings listed are missing from the page that is visible online. The top recording is still visible (with the old player), then all the subsequent recordings (with the old player) are not visible, but then all the new material (with the new player) is visible.I have found the same problem occurs on all my other pages and blogs when I try to add audio at the BOTTOM of a page with existing audio material on it.
The problem does not occur when I place the new material ABOVE existing audio material.
Please can you help. Thank you. Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth!
Can you try using the “Add Media” button towards the top of the post instead of manually entering the shortcode? The main difference will be the “Add Media” button will insert a closing audio tag that will prevent the music player from covering up your content. So, just delete your current shortcode. Then, place your cursor where you want the audio and click “Add Media”. Select the appropriate file and add it to your post.
The difference will be the following:
Old:
[audio m4a="FILE URL"]New format:
[audio m4a="FILE URL"][/audio]The latter should appear correctly within a blog post.
Please let me know if this helps to clear up the error!

Dear Jeremey
This has worked – I re-inserted all the old media files using the Add Media button and the short code changed automatically to the new format. Is there any way of shortening the player? It’s not essential but I think it would look better.
Thank you!
Elizabeth

Hey Elizabeth,
Currently, there is no way of shortening the player. The default player width expands across the screen. However, this is something we’re looking at potentially adjusting in the future.
