Ho do I stop wordpress from emailing blog posts to followers?

I am setting up my blog, and under Settings-Reader they have a section on follower setting. It looks like if someone follows you they will automatically get your posts by email. Is there any way to stop this? I plan on using the Amazon affiliate program but you are not allowed to send out Amazon affiliate links by email.

Hello,
At the moment, only your subscribers can control how frequently they receive your posts via email. You can not control that or stop them from receiving your posts via email.
