"Home" button has disappeared from menu

  I just noticed on my ipad the Home button has disappeared from the header menu, I’ve looked at the site on my laptop and its not showing there either. I’m using the Twenty Ten theme. Has the theme been changed to remove it, or is there a problem?

  I’ve just read your complaint. I do know that if you click on the website title it acts as a Home button. But for many who don’t use WordPress they might not know about this feature. As a temporary measure I’ve made by own Home button using a picture widget. But I would like the proper one back!

  We are looking into the missing Home link in the default menu in Twenty Ten and will keep you posted here.

  Thanks for your reply. i had a quick look in custom menu and could’t see “Home”. So i’ll not play around in there as I’ll probably lose more than I gain. Looking forward to a message from you saying it’s sorted.

  Richard – thanks for pointing that out. Looks like both Twenty Eleven and Twenty Ten are having the same issue.

  retroracers –

  i had a quick look in custom menu and could’t see “Home”.

  You can add a Home link using a custom link but I understand if you’d rather not touch it at the moment.

  I’ve done a sort of temporary fix by adding a image widget saying Home with a link to the Home page. But as it seems to be a problem with the theme I’ll leave it to the experts to fully sort it. Thanks for keeping us updated Kathrynwp.

  Fine Kathryn, ‘fink’ will await a ‘fix’ – meanwhile am content to click on banner image as I’ve found it’s acting as link generating home page.

  Please bring back the ‘Home’ tab in the Twenty Ten theme. If you want new themes please make new ones in stead of changing the old ones.

  Ellen, we did not change Twenty Ten or any of the other affected themes intentionally – there is an issue in the underlying software and we are working on fixing it as soon as possible. The workaround is to create a custom menu but we’ll keep you posted here as soon as the issue is patched.
