In the theme you’re using the Home link is optional. So if you haven’t created a custom menu you just go to Appearance > Theme Options and enable the option.

that is so awesome and simple– THANK YOU. is there any way I can change it to say something other than HOME?

yeah, I’m hip to the custom menu. I have one. But what I really want is to just re-name HOME on my main nav bar menu. It’s where I want it, I just want it to say something other than HOME. Creating a new custom menu just adds this to the bottom of my custom menu, and I want it on the nav bar.
Prolly not possible, yeah?

No, you’re misunderstanding how to use the custom menu. You can put in any link you like, including the one to HOME, but you can call it anything you want, including AWAY. The name displayed and the link destination are different and customizable.

I’m hip, I have done this. But I want this AWAY button to show in my main nav menu, not in my custom menu that lives on the side. Going in to Theme Options, I see the box to check for showing the HOME link in my main bar. I want to change that to say AWAY.
I do have the homepage link in my custom menu on the side, I just want it on-top with the other bigger buttons

Study my post more carefully please:

You can replace the top menu with a custom menu, and as raincoaster said you can name each item any way you like.
