Home link on page
-
I’m having a hard time finding out how to add a “Home” link to my side bar so that readers can just click “home” from the side bar and go directly from a page, back to the main page. I have two speperate blogs on wordpress, both with the same theme, and one blog automatically put “home” under my “pages” widget without me even having to add it. I want to do the same thing with my other blog but it didn’t do it automatically and I don’t see where I can just add it myself.

By clicking the title on your site, that will lead your visitors back to your main page. But you can add a new category and name it Home and add it as a bookmark like with your other categories that you have there. Or set up a text widget and place the code for a clickable link in it. On this thread, the very first code that Podz gives will make a clickable link for you:

we have a home link widget which adds the link to the home page everywhere except on the home page itself.

I believe what sulz is pointing to is that in the case of a customized header that does not contain the home page permalink, you can create a text widget with a home link in it and display it at the top of your sidebar in any theme. Provided the theme you have chosen does display a sidebar on every page, (not all themes do) then your visitors will have a means of navigating back to the front page of your blog.
