Home Page

Can a home page be a parent (ie, have sub-menus)?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you have a static homepage, it can be a parent page.
If you want to have pages listed in sub-menus under your home page when your home page is where your posts display, that should be possible using the custom menu feature, but I don’t believe you would be able to “officially” assign child pages to it as it doesn’t show up in the drop down menu of available parent pages.
Does that help?

Liz, thanks for responding. I am trying to have the “suggestion box” page on my website as a dropdown menu under Home, not up on the navigation bar. WordPress shows Home as the parent of Suggestion Box, but it does not hook it up that way. It is not clear to me what a static homepage is… it is not well defined. I used the default that came with WordPress.
Thanks. -
Go to Appearance – Menus then drag “Suggestion Box” to the top under “Home” then drag to the right to make it sub-menu. Here is the detail http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#changing-the-order-creating-sub-menus

@nizamilputra suggestion will absolutely help.
In order for it to work you also have to have custom menus enabled. Here’s more about that: http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
Let us know if you run into any trouble.
As for static home page, all that means is you have your website’s front page set up as a page that doesn’t change, rather than a page where all your posts are shared. It looks like you have your site set up so you aren’t using the blog page at all which may have added to the confusion.

Custom menu sounds like the way……and for a couple of other things also!! Thanks to you both, much appreciated. I’m overseas now for ten days, so it’ll be later this month before I get a crack at this. But I’ll know where to start when I get back. Thnx again.
