  • Hi there,

I’m not sure I understand. I’ve visited your site and seen how it looks in the editor mode, as well as when viewing the live page at trentonlee779849612.wordpress.com

The only difference I see is that in the editor view your site header (which has your site title and menu) are not shown while editing. By default this theme has a header area that does not show when you are editing pages, but does show on the live site on every page. You can see that in the example here: https://wordpress.com/theme/mayland/myfreetestsitefortestingthetestytests.wordpress.com

You are trying prevent your site header from showing on the site so the entire homepage starts with the colored background? Or did you have something else in mind?

    Thanks for the additional info!

    staff-totoro,

Hope you don’t mind my having a go at this.

The site has a custom menu displayed, since Mayland can’t display a default pages menu. Items must be added manually to a custom menu, as described in the Add Links to a Menu support page.

Your homepage is a static page, evidently a default page, that you will find at your Edit Pages Screen. Because it is set as the homepage, there is no need for another link to it in the menu presently.

Also, the URL of the page is temporarily changed when it is set as the homepage to the site URL. If it wasn’t the homepage, then I believe the page might have the URL https://trentonlee779849612.wordpress.com/home.

I have no idea how to fix this issue and delete that page

If you delete the page presently set as the homepage, as described and illustrated in the Delete Pages section of the Empty Site support page, or as described in the Deleting and Restoring Pages section of the Edit Pages Screen support page, then you’ll have two choices as to what to replace it with as the homepage, at Customize > Homepage Settings:

    1. select another page as the homepage
    2. display the latest posts on the homepage instead.

Another option would be to leave that page as your homepage, but edit it to display whatever you want displayed there. Empty it of content if you like, and add the content you want displayed.

Correction: I see now that your homepage doesn’t seem to be “evidently a default page,” as I’d suggested. Hope I’ve not misunderstood what you’re attempting to do.
