Hello! I have the Studio template. How do I set up my home page like the sample you have on your website http://lynseyjeanhenderson.me/? It looks like a gallery post on the home page, but all the images link to different pages.
Thanks,

It does look like that, but the way to set it up is to add each image you want to show on that page as the featured image on an individual portfolio project. Then when visitors click the image they will go to the project page for that image.
If you need any help getting that set up, create 4 portfolio projects–they can be mostly empty if you just want to test–and I’ll help you take the next step from there.

Thank you for your response. Is there a way to link the featured image on the home page directly to the gallery portfolio page without having the extra page in between w/ the big featured image on it? This seems redundant to me and unnecessary. I did try changing the link of the featured image, but it only works from that extra page I referred to, not the home page? Any help? Thanks.

Hi Gary!
Just so I make sure I understand correctly, you’re trying to jump straight from:
http://lynseyjeanhenderson.me/
To a page like this:
http://lynseyjeanhenderson.me/2014/08/26/boozy-cow-restaurant-murals-aberdeen/#jp-carousel-1257
Correct?
Currently, it’s setup like the following:
1. http://lynseyjeanhenderson.me/ – Click on post
2. http://lynseyjeanhenderson.me/2014/08/26/boozy-cow-restaurant-murals-aberdeen/ – Click on image
3. http://lynseyjeanhenderson.me/2014/08/26/boozy-cow-restaurant-murals-aberdeen/#jp-carousel-1257
Currently, you’re setting up the items as posts and then including a gallery in the post. I’m afraid there isn’t a way to go straight from the front page to a gallery within a post.
However, we can change this up a bit to achieve something similar to the demo, which goes like this:
1. Start here: https://studiodemo.wordpress.com/portraits/ (could be your front page)
2. Click on an image, and you’re taken here: https://studiodemo.wordpress.com/portraits/ (gallery right there)
Would that work? I believe that’s what you’re looking to setup, but I just wanted to double-check!

Hey Jeremey! Thanks for the response.
Yes what you are suggesting in the 2nd half of your response is more of what I’m looking for, but I don’t want the big featured image on the 2nd page when you to the gallery.
1. I’ve started to figure out how to do it by placing images directly on the home page separately and not as posts. If you click on my link this is currently my home page.
https://garyszczecina.wordpress.com/2. Then click on the first image and you are taken to my THEATRICAL gallery page: https://garyszczecina.wordpress.com/2015/02/09/theatrical-3/
The only thing is I want my home page to look more like the gallery page, where the images are bigger, take up more of the page, spaced evenly and there is no text on the right side of the page. Is this something you can help me with?
I’ve also included screen shots of the above links in my media library, in case you have problems viewing:

Screen Shot 2015-05-26 at 3.38.18 PMLet me know if this is the solution you had in mind or if there’s another way to achieve this. Thanks for your help!

Understood! This is a specific feature to the Studio theme. When the image is clicked, it magnifies the image at the top of the page. We certainly could remove that top image using CSS, but that would require the Premium plan shown here:
Additionally, we wouldn’t be able to remove the “Click” action on the image. Readers would still be able to click, but they wouldn’t see anything different about the page.

Thanks so much for providing the links! First, to remove the text on the right-hand side of the image, just remove all of the widgets from your sidebar area here:
https://garyszczecina.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php
If you remove them there, the sidebar area will be hidden.
For the spacing, try this:
1. Make sure all of the images are the same height and width
2. Set all of the images to “No Alignment”. To do that, open the edit page, click the image (you’ll see the applied alignment button active), and click the same alignment button.
When the images are set to “No Alignment”, the theme should fit as many as possible on each line creating a sort of grid layout. Can you give that a try?
