You cannot access and edit the “Home” page on the theme you are using. The code for it is embedded in the template which we cannot access and edit.
You can “hide” the second page you created. You can hide the second link by editing the page and setting another page as the Parent in the Attributes module. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-attributes/
Exclude – If you would like to keep certain pages from being listed in the Pages widget, you can enter the Page IDs (separated by commas). http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/pages-widget/

i thought that the idea was to create a new home page and hide the original sothat a guy can acctually put stuff on the “home” page?

As the support entries reveal some themes do have “Home” or “Blog” pages defined in the underlying code in the templates. You have chosen such a theme. Would you consider using another theme instead?
The best theme for a static Pages only blog is the inove theme which has several customizable options other themes do not have. You can read about the options in the post I link to below. What’s included in that theme is:
Page Templates
No Sidebar: There is a “no sidebar” page template so if you want certain pages you create, or all pages to not have sidebars, you can select the no sidebar template for those pages in the editor. This allows you to set certain pages you create to display no sidebars. If you want to hide the sidebars on all pages, that is available too. See “Sidebar” in the iNove Theme Options section below. </quote>

If you are considering moving to another theme then the post linked to below witll be helpful when it comes to selecting which one to choose.
Several themes have a special header tab, usually “Home”, occasionally “Blog” [*] or “Front Page” [**] or an image [***]: that’s not a page such as those you create but a link back to the blog front (the main blog URL, which can be your latest posts or a static page). That tab is hard-coded into the theme: you cannot edit or remove it.

i cant choose that one it doesn’t have a custom header.
im confused though about the last theme…
why would they program a home page if you are unable to use it?

Home page in a blog = the place where the most recent blog posts are found, with all other posts ranked below it by descending date order
Granted one can find posts by doing “categories” and “archives” searches however, a blog is not a website. The nature of a blog is to provide reafers front page access to all other posts ranked below it by descending date order.
In other words, a blog is not a website. lol :D
Here’s a run down of the differences in this post http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2009/05/02/business-blog-website-or-both/
