  Hi is there a way to make my blog posts not show the entire post on the home page? I just want the picture to be linked to the post so that people have to click on each picture to get to the post. I don’t want all the posts to just be expanded on the home page

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The answer is yes.

  The Reading Settings page summary setting does not impact the posts on the site.

  If you want to display only post excerpts on the front page of the blog followed by read more links, you can insert “the more tag” into each post prior to publication.

  The read more tag can be inserted once only into any post to change the front page or main page for posts display from full post to an excerpt. The split in the text does not display to you in preview mode but it will be there after the post is published.

  Alternatively, you can switch to using a theme that automatically displays front page excerpts.   That list is super old and most of those themes are retired, so it’s best not to give it out anymore.

  We have a showcase filter which lists all themes that display excerpts by default:

  Most newer themes also have the Content Options panel in the Customizer, which allows you to choose between displaying the full post or an excerpt.

  Your theme Button has Content Options available, and it looks like you’ve found the option to choose post excerpts, so you should be all set.
