Is there a way to make the front page include the sidebar?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The way you theme is designed to function is stated here https://wordpress.com/theme/baskerville-2 Click the open live demo site link and if what you want to do is not displayed there and what you see is footer widgets only, then the answer is no.

If you’re okay with having the front page of your site display a bit differently, then you can have a sidebar.
There are a few options.
First, you’d need to set a static front page for your site. Once you do that, make sure the page uses the “Default” page template. This will allow the sidebar to appear.
As for the main content to the left of the sidebar, you can simply edit the page content and use the front page as an intro, or you can display blog posts on it by using the Display Posts shortcode.
If you decide not to show blog posts on the front page, you can always create another page (maybe call it “Blog”) and then from My Site > Customize > Static Front Page, set that new page as your Posts page. That will make your blog posts appear on the new page.
