  Hi! I am an absolute newbie so forgive me in advance for the daft questions. I am wanting to improve my site and have now got a home page plus a blog page. The blog page is fine, showing as I want it to. The problem is the home page. I want it to show an extract of the latest blog published that visitors can click on to take to the whole blog post.
  I am developing the gallery page as well using portfolio….is it possible to have a similar extract from that on the home page with again clicking through to the whole post on the gallery page.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there!

  First off, your question is not daft!

  So, what you’re looking to do is possible with several WordPress.com themes; you can browse through themes that specifically support blog excerpts and the portfolio feature here: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/blog-excerpts+feature:portfolio

  You’ll want to manually write each excerpt. Read more about them here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/excerpts/
