What’s with your new homepage? It’s AWFUL – I get it when I sign out of now browse to you. It’s some big, black background thing that takes up my whole screen. It’s too overwhelming and not at all welcoming. I hope you will CHANGE it, please!

Just to be clear I meant that I like the new WordPress.com home page, not that I liked your idea of changing it.

I’ve just had a look and I think it’s pretty cool as well. Ah well, you can’t please everyone.

I think the rotating images are very dramatic.
However…
It is a bit distracting when one is trying to type in an unfamiliar password. I also wonder how fast it loads on slower connections? It did seem a bit slow to me anyway. -

Me either, but I was helping one of the forum folk a while ago where I logged in and out of different accounts on Safari which I rarely use anymore. I was surprised to see the new page.
But I wonder how many people do log in through the wp.com homepage? I think new people seeing that array of very interesting photos would be tempted to investigate wordpress.com further though.

I think the new home page is great – except for logging in, as I find the moving pictures very bad for my eyes (I get visual-trigger migraines) so what I do (as I prefer to log in there, via https) – is resize my window so that only the log in fields show. It’s simple and effective. However, it also kind of defeats wp.com’s purpose!
