Home Page and About Page Have the Same Content

  Greetings,

  I created a static home page. My only choices for the Home Page were About, Contact, or Blogs2 so I chose Contact.

  But both Home and About appear with similar content.

  I’d like Home to be my Homepage and use About for other stuff. Or just get rid of Home and have About be my homepage.

  Any ideas that might solve my problem are appreciated. Thanks!

  You can always create another static page.

  But both Home and About appear with similar content.

  They are not just similar, they are identical. You’ve set the “About” page as your homepage, so the “About” link now goes to the homepage. The “Home” link just goes to the homepage regardless of whether you set it to display posts or a static page.

  I’d like Home to be my Homepage and use About for other stuff.

  To free up the “About” page, make another page the static front page. You may create another page for this purpose if you wish to.

  Or just get rid of Home and have About be my homepage.

  To get rid of the “Home” link in the default menu you may create and activate a custom menu, which will replace the default menu, and omit from the custom menu a link with the navigation label “Home.”

  I got this one wrong above, or only half right. Should have said:

  To free up the “About” page, make the “Home” your homepage, you may create a static page titled “Home” and set it as your static front page. However, this will leave you with two “Home” links in the default menu. You can resolve this by creating and activating a custom menu, including a menu item with the navigation label “Home” that links to the front page. The default “Home” link will disappear as soon as you activate a custom menu.
