Home page and blog post email problems

    Hello,

    I have a couple questions I’m hoping you can answer. For my blog, Transform SDC, I was wondering if the box in the center of the page could be moved to the far left or right corner of the picture instead of strictly in the middle?

    In addition, blog post emails to those who follow the blog are being sent from wordpress.com instead of from Transform SDC, as it was previously before I changed themes. Is there a way to change this back?

    Thank you,
    transformsdc, Sonoma Land Trust

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • We can certainly move the box off the center of the page but it requires Custom Design upgrade.

    Email will be sent from WordPress.com address but the display name should be your blog name, something like Transform SDC <(email visible only to moderators and staff)>. Is this not the case for you?

    Okay, how much does the Custom Design upgrade cost?

    I went to the customize section of my blog and realized I didn’t have a site title because I wanted to use the photo as my site title/logo. So i put in Transform SDC at my title name and then un-clicked display header title so that the photo could show instead. I’m thinking that was the problem when blog post emails went out.

  • If you created your account prior to 1 September 2014, then Custom Design only costs 30 USD.

    WordPress.com stopped selling most of the individual upgrades for the accounts created after that date. So you will have to spend 99 USD to get a premium plan in which custom design is one of the items. Here is what you get for 99 USD: https://store.wordpress.com/plans/

  • It is weird that site title is not picked up in the emails. It should ideally pick up regardless of whether you chose to display it or not.

    I actually already have the Premium Plan, which includes the Custom Design capabilities, correct?

  • Yes, Custom Design is included in Premium plan.

    You can add this CSS to the CSS Editor:

    @media screen and (min-width: 768px){
    .front-page-content-area .with-featured-image {
        float: right;
    }
    }

    Change right to left if you wish to move the box to the left.

    Thank you! Is there a way to make the box float to the top?

  • Sure thing :)

    Try this CSS and see:

    .hero-container-inner {
    vertical-align: top;
    }
