Home Page and User Issues
-
I am having two problems. First, when Googled, my website home page turns up with the header but ‘Not Found,’ even as the tabs appear with information available. I have checked and rechecked settings, and can’t find why this is happening. I have a blog page that I haven’t yet used but do not want to delete.
Secondly, and alarmingly, I discovered that I had a dozen people listed as ‘Authors,’ a few of whom had posted material under my header. How can this be? Please help. I don’t want to have to keep checking and deleting these. And I certainly don’t want random stuff coming up on my page.
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you’re getting users added it could be possible your account has been hacked. You should change your password immediately and ensure it is a complicated one.
As for the homepage: “Not found” is likely because you don’t have a post. Try changing your homepage to your About.
1. Go to Settings > Reading. Within Reading Settings …
2. Change “Front page displays” to Static Page
3. Select another page for the “Front Page”
4. Click Save Changes (at the bottom) -
Thanks — Clear and simple solutions. I hope the password change does in fact solve that nasty problem. Onward.
