When I switched the ovris theme I saw on the example page that they had photos up and that when you clicked on the photo it took you to the corisponding artical. When I swiched to this theme it put my artivals so that you could just scroll through them. How can I change this to be more like the example?

To do this, follow these steps:
1 – log in to your wp-admin panel at https://awaywithfoodblog.wordpress.com/wp-admin
2 – first we have to make your new home page. In the menu that appears to the left, click Pages > Add new.
3 – enter a title first (like Home for example). At the far right, in the section called Page attributes, choose the Portfolio Page Template under the Template drop down menu. Now click the blue Publish button in the top right corner.
4 – now click Settings > Reading in the menu to the left.
5 – at the top, where you can read Front page displays, click A static page, and choose the page you just made (in step 3) as the Front Page from the drop down menu below. For Posts Page, choose your blog page. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes.
6 – no we have to make the posts that will appear as the pictures you can see on the front page of the demo. To do this, click on Portfolio > Add new in the main menu to the left.
7 – Fill in a title, write some text, and most importantly go down to the far right corner and click Set featured image.After you´ve set your featured image, click the blue Publish button at the top right corner.
8 – no go back to your site at https://awaywithfoodblog.wordpress.com and check if it looks a bit more like the demo. If not, let me know where you´re having problems. -

First of all, welcome to the WordPress.com forum! I´ve written instructions for how to do this below. In the future though, please start a new thread when you have a question you would like answered in the forum. That way, we avoid mixing up two topics in the same thread ;)
To get your blog to appear on your homepage, follow these steps:
1 – log in to your wp-admin panel at https://healthyshadesofgreen.wordpress.com/wp-admin
2 – in the menu to the left, click Settings > Reading.
3 – at the top of the page that appears, where it says Front page displays, click on Your latest posts,and then click the Save Settings button on the bottom.
4 – go back to your page and check if it looks OK.If it doesn´t, please start a new thread with this issue.
