My home page can not be found: http://xxnails.wordpress.com.
My Theme is ‘Visual,’ but the home screen does display. When I try to customize the Theme in the Dashboard, the page shows nothing.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

By default the front page of your blog displays all posts. The 404 (page not found) error message on the front page of the blog appeared because the Admin of the blog deleted the placeholder Hello World post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/not-found/ As soon as you publish a post, not a page it will disappear. Read the differences between Pages and Posts.

No changes you try out aside from those such as Custom Background, Custom Header and Theme Options which are stated on the theme description pages for each theme will be visible to visitors unless you purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade.
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/newsworthy/NOTE: As you do not have a CSS upgrade you can skip using the theme customizer. All of the very same functions can be accessed from your dashboard.
Appearance > Header
Appearance > Background
Appearance > Theme Options (applicable only to some themes)
Settings > Reading (set a static front page)
Site Title and Tagline > Settings > General -
If you do you purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade
