Could you post a link to one of your newer posts? It will help me trouble shoot what’s happening with your site.
Thanks!

If you click on the home page you end up here http://piercestownns.wordpress.com/2013/05/10/newsletter-2-may-2013/
however, the most recent blog appears on the page when you open it up
http://piercestownns.wordpress.com/but as a viewer of the page, if you then click the tab above that says home it takes you back to the top link. Maybe I need to keep changing the home page? but I thought the recent blog would automatically be linked into that. Thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Laura Walsh -
Ah, I see now. I was looking at the blog linked in your initial request (http://wexfordchess.wordpress.com/) which works fine ;).
It looks like you set up a static home page directly linked to http://piercestownns.wordpress.com/2013/05/10/newsletter-2-may-2013/. With that setup, the home page won’t automatically update. because you are linked to a specific post, not your actual blog feed.
If you change the link on the home page button to point to “http://piercestownns.wordpress.com/” instead the home page will work the way you want it to.
Let me know if that works better, or if you run into additional trouble.

Thanks Liz, apologies but I have no idea how to
If you change the link on the home page button to point to “http://piercestownns.wordpress.com/” instead the home page will work the way you want it to.
Can you describe how I might do this?
Kind regards,
Laura -
Absolutely.
The link below will take you to the Appearance>Menus page on your dashboard.
https://piercestownns.wordpress.com/wp-admin/nav-menus.phpYou’ll see you have a HOME item listed in your menu right now, but it’s a post, not your actual home page.
To fix this, open the Pages menu (just to the left of Menu structure), click the check box next to Home, and click Add to Menu.
The menu item will show up at the bottom of your menu structure, so the next step is to drag it to the top above your existing HOME post.
Once the new Home menu item is in place, remove the old one by clicking the small triangle next to the word “post.” After the box opens, click the Remove link at the bottom.
Click Save Menu and you’ll be all set.
If you run into difficulties, or if any of the steps don’t make sense, let me know and I’ll help you work through the steps.

Many thanks Liz.
That worked perfectly. Apologies for the questions.
Kind regards,
