Home page edit not possible

  I’m kinda new to blogging and WP; I’ve read the FAQ & seen the screencasts; I’ve got a blog up <http://stepanczuk.wordpress.com/&gt;; but, I’m having trouble. I cannot seem to edit the Home page of my blog. For the time being, I’ve got a ghost link going to a page acting like the Home page. You can see it on the menu bar; a blank box next to the Home link.

  Question: How can I open that Home page to edit it?

  The main page of a blog here at wordpress.COM is the page that the posts appear on and the main part of it cannot be edited as they are created “on the fly” by the theme and wordpress PHP files (no access to those). You can add and change the sidebar widgets on most themes (design > widgets). The sidebar will show a default sample set of widgets that will disappear once you manually add a widget to the sidebar. You can then add the other widgets you want. You can add a different header image in many of the themes here (design > custom header image) and it will appear on each blog page.

  How do I post to a Page?

  And the “ghost link”/”blank box” is a link to a page with nothing in its title. You should be able to find this nameless page in Manage>Pages and delete it.

  You don’t understand the problem: I want to edit the Home page. It appears I cannot. The ghost page is now acting like the Home page; if I delete it, I go back to square one.

  Thanx. I duly read the links. It appears I cannot do what I want. Ugh. I’m already disliking blogs. They’re supposed to be easier, but I’ve had more success with WYSIWYG editing.

  @woodrackets: “I want to edit the Home page. It appears I cannot”. Of cource you cannot, since it’s name is a live link, so you can’t reach its editor by clinking on ithe name in Manage>Pages. You can only delete it and create it anew.
