Hi there!
Do you mean you want your home page to default to displaying your recent blog posts as it was when your site was initially set up? If so, your site is currently set to display your most recent blog posts as listed under Settings -> Reading from your site’s dashboard.
If you deleted and trashed a specific page or post, then that file is not recoverable. Here’s a reference that will help you create a new post or page:

Thanks! It’s close, but there’s a wrinkle. Perhaps if I just explain what I want it to look like. I want the ‘home’ page to be the front page. I want it to display content which has another title than ‘home.’ ‘home’ looks dumb. Thus, I want the page to be listed as ‘home’ on the header menu. I want this ‘home’ to be the front page, so that when lc.com opens, it opens to ‘home’ *But I want the content to have a title that’s not ‘home’ but ‘fantasy books’or something of the sort.

It sounds like a Custom Menu might be what you’re looking for! Here’s a link to our support document on Custom Menus that has an great video that will walk you through the different options you can use for your menu and how to assign it to display on your site:
