Home Page Help
-
Just started my blog and I’m trying to figure out how to make the home page of my site display the home menu (if that makes sense?). Originally, it wouldn’t let me write anything on the home page (without it being a blog post) like it would on the About or Contact page. Also, if you clicked on the Home button on the top right, it would not take you home… So I created a page called Home, and changed (on the Primary Menu) the page from Home SITE to the new, me-created Home. That way it would let me edit the page. So now the problem is, instead of being redirected to ‘my’ Home page, the site takes you to the old home page (where it just says ‘Nothing Found… Ready to publish your first post? Get started here.’). If you understand any of my ramblings just then, could you please explain the internet… like specifically, how I get this portion of the internet to work how I want it to?
I do have the free plan, but I feel like this should still work. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Oh! I forgot to note…
If you click on the top right where it says Home, it will take you to the page I want it to. It just doesn’t take you there automatically. -
Landing page shows an error Oops! page can’t be found .
If I click on site title or home I access the Home page
Question : How do you get Home page on Landing page ?

Go to My Site, then Pages, then click on the little three dots to the right of the page you want to be your homepage

This is a one or the other situation. You have two choices on any blog
(1) All posts on the front page. By default that is the URL of the site.
(2) A static front page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ and all posts on a different page.By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors, who come to read your latest post, and who are not likely to be happy with being compelled to click through the same static page with the same blah, blah, blah on it every time they visit the blog looking for the latest post.
However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts. Create your two pages first
Front page:
Posts page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/After you do that you go to > Dashboard > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/A static page (select below)
