Home page image in Goran theme

I am using the Goran theme for a WP hosted site: https://newmidatlanticprsa.wordpress.com/ I would like the main image on home to be less deep. I tried to upload a full width image (1230) that is 300 px deep but the theme seems to stretch it to 576. How can I make the main image less deep?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Jill,

The Goran theme is designed to display that image at least 576 pixels tall. That’s part of the theme’s design and is why the theme recommends using an image that’s at least 1230 × 576 pixels, to fill that space. (On smaller devices, like phones and tablets, the image will be resized to fit the smaller screens.)

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Is there a way to reduce the minimum depth to be smaller than 576px? The image is pushing all the content of the page below the first screen of information. When I upload an image that’s not as deep, the theme resizes it.

    Hi Jill,

If you’re using a featured image there, it will always be displayed at least 576 pixels tall — that’s how the theme is designed. However, one option is to not use a featured image on the page or header image on your site. Goran will then display a small header like on the blog page on the demo site:
