home page issues
-
I no longer have a Home page tab in my custom menu. So when I click on a page from my font page, I can no longer navigate back to my front page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This happened to me when I had a custom menu too. I fixed it by adding a link labeled home with a link to my blog’s home page, not sure if I described that clearly enough.

Yes you did, I just can’t find a way to link the “Home Page” tab I created back to my actual home page? There is nothing in the parent page, etc to do that?

If I remember right, there is an option to add a link to a custom menu. If I remember correctly, the first input box is for the url, which in this case should be http://hayshillsyouth.wordpress.com and the title in the second box should be home.

You don’t have to create a custom link: the Pages module in Appearance > Menus includes a ready-to-use “Home” item.
For details on custom menus see this post of mine: -
Justpi, I think this post needs to be updated again. When you click view all, there is a ready-to-use home link, but as far as I can tell, that link displays the title of the page you are using. You can then change this to whatever you want. As you can see on my site, I’ve changed it to say Home.

I should add that this is only the case if you have your front page set to a static page like I do. I’m not sure what it does if you have your posts on the front page.

@bobdavcav: Thanks! Yes, #a under Other options etc needs updating again, since the Home item is no longer “Home:Home” or “Home:[page title].
(But renaming a menu item is a more general option, already covered in #e).
