Home page links not working

  • Unknown's avatar

When I set up my wordpress I used a post as a sticky as my home page instead of using a page. Now problems with links. Can I copy my home page post into a new page and set that up as the home page? I don’t want to lose the content. Thank you

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have now resolved the above issue by using menus, but I still have the problem that I used a ‘post’ for my home page instead of a ‘page’.
I have therefore been linking my new posts to ‘pages’.
I have now opened a ‘POSTS’ page in which to insert all future blogs. Any tips on how I organise ‘links’ to the posts page from my new posts.
    Thanks

    Hi David!

Happy to help you get this sorted out. It looks like currently, your front page is displaying your latest posts with this post as a sticky on the top:

    About David

If I understand your request correctly, you’re looking to now use a page as your home page on your site and set up a separate page to house all of your blog posts. Is that correct?

It looks like you already have a “Posts” page seen here:

    Posts

In order to complete the process, you can just create a new page titled “About” or “Home” (or whatever you would like). Then, copy the information from your sticky post (the introduction to your blog) and post it in the contents to that page.

Now, you can navigate to your Reading settings here:

    https://davidtorkington.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php

At the top of the page, set up the settings like this:

In the “Front Page” field, select your new home page that you just created.

    This process is described here:

    Set the Homepage

Is that what you’re looking to accomplish? Please let me know if you need any additional help!
