Home page – most recent 2 blogs – truncation
-
Hi. Under the classic editor my homepage showed truncated versions of the 2 most current posts. This is preferred. With the block editor however the most recent post on my homepage is in full (plus the 2nd most recent blog post as well). How can I show only the titles of my 2 most recent blog posts on my homepage? Thanks.

Hi there,
The Linen theme is an older one we retired some time ago, so there is no longer online setup documentation for this theme: https://wordpress.com/theme/linen/
However, after taking a closer look at the demo site, I can see that it does not have a setting to automatically shorten your posts. Instead what they are using (in the classic editor) is the “more tag” to insert a continue reading link manually into the blog post text.
You can do that in the block editor as well, by adding the More Block in the place in the text you would like to show a “Continue Reading” link: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/more-block/
Add that to each of your blog posts and on the homepage instead of showing the full post, only some of the content will show, ending exactly where you added your More Block.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Ahhh. So simple, even I can do it. Many Thanks. (I think it’s time I upgraded to a more current theme … hopefully with few transition problems … I’m thinking ‘Nucleare’). Again, Thanks.
