Home Page & new posts

How can I keep the Home page looking the same, with the same image, writing, etc, when I write a new post. I wrote a kind of “welcome” and intro for the Home page, but when I wrote a new post, this got knocked off the top of the Home Page. I read there’s something called a “sticky post” that might be what I’m looking for, but the link for this didn’t take me to any info on it. Also, when I bring up “All Pages” on the Dashboard, there’s no option for the Home page, which means I’m not able to control its appearance the way I can with the other pages.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • It sounds like you’re trying to set up a static home page. A sticky post is a regular post on your posts page that’s just stuck to the top. You set it to sticky in the post editor. A static home page, however, is a page you create and link it to the “Home” tab on your menu in the place of the posts page which is linked to “Home” by default. You then create a different page to show your posts feed.

Just follow the instructions in this support doc: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
