Home page not updating for featured posts

  Hi, I am using the gateway theme. have changed my homepage from default to ‘Home Page’ in page attributes a few times now …. the homepage appears to be updated to show the featured posts when I click update, but the next time I check the home page is gone back to the default setting of listing one post after another? I am very new to this, please excuse my ineptitude. Thanks for the help :)

  Did you make sure to set the “Static Front Page” setting to “A static page”, as described here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/post-visibility/
