Home Page on Structure widgets

Greetings! If someone could help me on this, I would greatly appreciate it!
In Structure is it possible on the front page to only have the Featured Image and text visible? I want to hide everything below the line but invariably widgets are shown.

If you do not wish to have any widgets display then place an empty text widget in the sidebar, open it add nothing, click “save” and “close”. See here:

This is a multiuser blogging platform. All blogs wearing the same theme are using the same underlying template and we cannot access the underlying files and edit templates or themes. http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/ If you intend to remove all “bloggy” items from any theme here at wordpress.com then you will need to purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade and do the required CSS editing.
