home page problem

  Hi … a problem i had a few days ago was answered here so i am hoping someone can help me now. my home page is good. however there is a paragraph at the top of the whole that is not part of HOME page. when i go to make edits the page itself is from HOME downwards. the top bit (not the header information) is a paragraph i had typed in when i very first created this site (2 weeks ago) and it shows up nowhere !!! i want to delete the paragraph and have been through every option available that i can see and just cant find it.
