Home Page says "ERROR 404 page not found" and won't let me post an article! Why?
-
I am trying to post something to my home page and it is not being published to the home page. I don’t know where it is being published, but it keeps popping up SOMEwhere else! The home page just continually says “ERROR 404 page not found.” Why? How do I fix this so my home page displays what I want it to? (a new article!)
I’m thinking it’s because we set the home page to “static” in the customize bar settings, but the customize bar hasn’t even been working/loading since yesterday morning in order for me to change it to see if that makes a difference! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

By default the front page of your blog displays all posts. The 404 (page not found) error message on the front page of the blog appeared because the Admin of the blog deleted the placeholder Hello World post. http://en.support.wordpress.com/not-found/ As soon as you publish a post, not a page it will disappear. If you set up a static front page page and neglected to create a page for post to appear on then you can remedy that.
Please be sure you fully understand the differences between Pages and Posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/
The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.
To do that create two pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
