Home page screw up

Let me start by saying that It’s been a while since I blogged and I guess I forgot a few things. Consequently on my first post
I did something to my main (home) page. I have an open window and somehow I managed to put some wording in there that doesn’t belong and I can’t get rid of it. I think I accidently deleted the home page(I can’t find a HOME page under pages?)? Not sure what I did but I can’t fix it. I’ve uploaded a featured photo which I think should be there but is not. Can someone help me straighten this out? HELP!!!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please be precise and specific. “Some wording” doesn’t mean anything: which wording? “Access my homepage” doesn’t mean anything either. To do what?@hautecotureator:

a) Homepage = main address of blog = blog front. It’s not a static page like the ones you can create or edit in Pages > All Pages, and there’s no such thing as deleting your blog home/front. Your blog front can display your latest posts or a static page. Which one of the two do you want? -
So precisely when I am logged, in the grey box that should have my featured image I see this:
You can edit “AMEY/LUKSUS COAT circa 1970 YUM!” and use featured images to add an image here.I have uploaded a featured image but it doesn’t show up.

May we please set the featured image issue aside for a moment. Please answer this question:
Your blog front can display your latest posts or a static page. Which one of the two do you want?

The text “You can edit [etc etc]” is an alert that the theme is missing the required featured image. Visitors don’t see that text: only you see it, and only while logged in.
Featured images need to be in the right dimensions. Check the guide I already linked to.

I have uploaded a featured image. I have even tried to repost my last post and upload the photo again. My photo is 800×600. I have my theme option set to have my latest post featured. Which it is not. I have done another post with a picture and it worked the way it should so I’m baffled.

a) Your latest post is featured, otherwise it wouldn’t show in the Homepage Top area. It’s just missing the image.
b) I’m assuming you’re talking about this image:

If so, then will you please study the guide I linked to? First, you haven’t set it as a featured image, you have added it to the post as a regularly inserted one; second, the image isn’t wide enough. -
OK got it, so the photo needs to be uploaded separately in featured and if I want the WHOLE coat ( for example) I need to recreate a whole image that is the correct size ( obviously the coat photo is not the right dimensions so I would have to add on to the sides and resize to get the whole image). Thanks, I guessI just got lucky last time with the dimensions
