Home Page Settings – Rowling Theme
-
I am setting up a site using the Rowling Theme, and so far am very happy with the Theme’s layout, navigation and useability on desktop/tablet/phone for a non-profit organization site.
My question is about the flexibility of Home Page Settings. I want to set this to “Your Latest Posts” – how does Rowling (or WP.COM) define “latest” – last week or so, or some other criterion? is it possible for me to limit recent posts displaying in my home page to, say, only last 6?
P.S. I am using the theme’s “sticky post” feature to show initially 2 posts with basic tips on how to use my blog.
Thanks in advance for any advice on this!

Hello @dcwhine,
Latest is the last [insert designated #] posts you’ve made and not based on time. For example: someone who posts daily vs someone who posts monthly will still have 6 ‘latest’ posts on their blog if they both have their settings set to 6 blog posts shown per page. I hope this answers your question. :)
You can set the number of posts that show per page by going to Settings > Choose the site you want to alter (if you have multiple sites) > Click on the Writing tab and scroll down until you see the section labeled: Content Types.
Under ‘Blog Posts’ change the number in the input box to 6 and hit the Save Settings button.
You’ll also want to turn off the Infinite Scroll option underneath the section called ‘Theme Enhancements’ on the same page.
Doing both of these things will show only 6 posts on the homepage and an ‘Older Posts’ button will show for people to view your other posts.
Let us know if you have further questions – happy to help! :)
