Home page showing as blank after editing text in html

  I have just set up a new wordpress blog, however I edited the txt in the example home page and since I have done this, whenever I click in to edit the home page from the page contents screen, I get a white screen with nothing except the little wordpress questionmark in the bottom right corner. I cannot get into the page to edit. Any suggestions would be appreciated
