Home Page showing up in 2 places on the Front Page

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi, for some reason the paragraph I’ve written for my home page (first to show up when scrolling down on my front page) shows up twice. The second time is after a couple of pages. I have no ‘theme options’ I’ve tried a few different things (deleted and built a new page), even a restore and nothings working. Why would it show up twice? have I clicked a setting by accident? Please help me i’m finding this really frustrating

    Hi there what is the site address you need help with?

    Thank you for responding. Its http://www.skyzlimit.co.nz if u scroll down the home page you’ll see what I mean

    Hi there, I see what you mean. You might have “Home” or “Blog” set to display as a panel.
    When you go to customizer in the dashboard under “Appearance” “Theme Options” > Customizer.
    Go to “Theme Options” Under the Front Page Section content, check that the last one is not “home” or anything. It has to be blank if you don’t want anything to display there.

    Please note, you are using the open source self-hosted version of WordPress, you need to post in the WordPress.org forum for assistance, you can follow this link to the forum: https://wordpress.org/support

    Hi, When you are inside the dashboard. scroll down to “Appearance” if you hover over the link you will see the menu, select “Customize”

    Once in the “Customizer Editor,” you will see the “Theme Options” you can then follow these steps.

    Under the Front Page Section content, check that the last one is not “home” or anything. It has to be blank if you don’t want anything to display there.

    Hi zazter 😊 There isnt a ‘theme options’ in the customizer 🙁 I’ve tried a few things to get it back but it’s nowhere to be found. I dont know why it disappeared. Maybe I’m outta my league here…

    Ok, check one more thing… In “Customizer” click on “Home Page Settings” and see if “Static Page” is selected. If so, switch to “Latest Posts” publish and Select “Static Page” and publish again.
    The “Theme Options” is dependent on Homepage Settings being on “Static Page”

    You can set the panels to show the content you like to show.

    Hope this might be it. 😎

    Just tried it, it hasn’t worked 😕 I also just tried deactivating all my plug ins still nothing. I’m working with a child theme could that have something to do with it? Is it possible to just code the theme options back in?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Yes, the child theme has something to do with it.
    You can remedy this with CSS.
    Go to “Customizer” select CSS and paste this code in there.

    article#panel3 {
    display: none;
    }

    Hope this helps 😎
