Home page slider

Hi,
I have read all the threads about the front page slider, but I still can’t get it to work.
Please help as i have just purchased it and am getting frustrated already!

The steps to enable featured content slider for any theme are typically as following:
1. Set the page template of your home page to Home Page Template.
2. Pick a tag name to tag the posts you want to appear on the slider, say featured. This tag name can be anything. Here is the support guide on how to tag posts: https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/tags/
3. In your dashboard, go to Appearance > Customize screen. Expand Featured Content menu on the left hand side. In the Tag name field, enter the tag name you picked in step 2 above. Click Save & Publish button.
4. Visit your site to check that the slider is shown now.

Thank you so much for coming back to me so quickly. I still have no luck. I have created a tag under the ‘Posts’ menu. and have entered it under featured content. Will the slider show on the dashboard? or within my ‘home page’?
sorry, I have only made one site before and it was a lot easier than this! -
