home page url extension
-
why does my Home page slug url has an extension? I have created a Page and named “Portfolio” for a gallery of images, the slug for it is http://www.brandolishna.wordpress.com/portfolio1/ . However I do not wish to keep that last digit in the url, but when I tried to edit it my home page seemed to have kept it for its own! http://www.brandolishna.wordpress.com/portfolio now redirects to my home page, making my home page available at two urls (the original blog url and the one with “portfolio” extension ). I have cleared my trash. Please help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I am not sure how this is happening but when I first activated Adelle theme, I noticed mygroovyblog.wordpress.com/portfolio is leading to the home page. Just like how you described is happening.
Could you please try deleting your existing portfolio page and re-create? You might want to to save the page contents first.

Seems your issue was sorted? If so, could you please let me know how did you resolve it? Thank you.

Yes I did try and recreate the page again and again, I got so tired of doing it I just switched off my computer and went off to sleep… Next morning I woke up to find everything was just the way I wanted it! I guess I had to restart my computer, it got confused I guess after I deleted everything from the trash and kept deleting and creating the page. Because technically nothing was wrong with what I did. So just restarting the computer did the trick! :D
