Home Page very messed up!

  Hi All

  I made some updates to my blog today and now my home page seems to be very messed up, with posts back to front, headlines out of place, the widgets no longer displayed in the sidebar but below all the posts etc. The only changes I made were to individual posts, changing a few words and their layout to left alligned. The About and Contact pages are still fine. Can anyone help? Thanks!

  This is most typically cause by an open or missing HTML tag in a post, and it appears that “Fat around the middle? How to measure your waist-to-hips ratio” is the problem post.

  Go to settings > writing and check “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and then save. Now, open that post in the editor, switch from the Visual tab to the “text” tab, let it load, and then switch back and update the post. That should take care of the issue for you. That change at settings > writing should also keep this from happening in the future too.

  Hmm, well I think I followed your instructions well but it doesn’t seem to have worked. The Home page is still distorted and not in the correct order at all. If you click on individual posts from the home page they do come up as they are supposed to look. I have checked the box “wordpress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically” and doubled checked it is still checked. I then went into each individual post (starting with the one you said was the problem first, but then that didn’t appear to change anything), switched from visual to text, then back and update, but still nothing. You did say ‘open post in that ed’ and I don’t quite understand what ‘in that ed’ means. I didn’t close the page, I went straight to the post and switched the tabs.
  Any other suggestions? I can always re-do all the posts, there aren’t that many!

  Ok, continue the procedure I outlined on all of the other posts that you recently edited. There has to be an open or malformed tag in one of them. Did you change or edit anything in the sidebar?
