Home page -where is it on dashboard?

  My home page has nothing on it except a seach widget. How do I put content on it as I don’t see it listed on my dashboard. What am I missing? Novice obviously!

  Just write a Post. You can do that from your main blog page and on the admin bar it’ll say Add New, and you choose Post. Or you can do it from your dashboard, under Posts->Add New.
