Home page won't show up

My home page does not show up when I go to stampedebooks.com. That is because the page I have set up is identified instead as permalink http://stampedebooks.com/55-2/ (when I have tried at different times, it has different numbers after .com, but it is never just stampedebooks.com). When I try to edit out the 55-2, it just returns. How do I solve this so the home page I have set up actually shows up? When I am in my account, I can see it, but when I sign out from my account, it disappears because it refuses to be simply the stampedebooks.com permalink.

Hi,
In Settings -> Reading, can you try choosing “A static page”, then set your desired published page as your Front page, then click Save Changes?
(I’d also suggest adding a page title to help differentiate between the pages by going to Pages -> All Pages, moving your cursor over the page title, then click Quick Edit.)

First, I want to apologize for the delayed response. I’m on the east coast and lost electricity for quite a while because of the hurricane and couldn’t try your suggestion.
But it worked perfectly. The key was adding a page title. Thanks so much.
