Home pages

Hello! How do I delete some of the ‘home’ pages I accidentally set up? I have three pages currently called home pages right now (they are located at the top of the webpage). I also don’t know how to customize what I want onto my static home page, so for now I just have the website open onto a page with my most recent posts. Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Vanesa,
To delete the extra Home pages from your menu at the top of the page, you will need to use the Customizer:
1. Click on My Sites in the upper left-hand corner and then scroll down and click Customize in the sidebar on the left.
2. Click the Menus tab in the Customizer to see your menus.
3. Click the Main Menu tab to see your Main Menu items.
4. Click on the Home item that you want to delete, and it will expand. At the bottom of the expanded box is a Remove button that you can click to remove your menu item. Do this for each menu item that you want to remove.
5. Click Publish to save your changes; and then click the “x” to close the Customizer. Here is a link to more information about managing your menus: https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
It looks like you might be using the Cocoa theme. If so, you can check out this link to learn more about the theme and how to customize it: https://wordpress.com/theme/cocoa/

Thank you for the response! Unfortunately, this is not the first time I ask because I’ve been told to go to the Menus tab before, but the window says I don’t have any menus? So there is no “Main Menu” link for me to click on and delete the Home page buttons. The only options I’m given are to “Create a New Menu” or “View Menu Location”, but when I click the latter, it asks me to create a new menu too.
I will have to keep looking on the link for Menus that you attached.

I’ve never used Cocoa before, but I looked at a trial version and it looks like it is automatically adding your top level pages to your menu bar. If this is what you want, then I think you will need to delete the actual Home pages. To do this, click on My Sites and then Site Pages to see your list of pages. Clicking on the three dots to the right of each page name will display a drop-down menu where you can click Trash to remove the pages you no longer need.
However, if you want to control what appears on your menu, then you should create your own. You can do this by selecting the Create New Menu option and then doing the following:
1. Enter a menu name like “Main Menu”.
2. Check the Top Primary Menu checkbox under Menu Location and click Next.
3. Click the Add Items button to add the pages you want to appear on your menu. (refer to the previous link about managing menus for more details)
4. Make sure the “Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu” is unchecked and then click Publish
