Home Slider on Stay Theme will not appear

The Stay theme is lovely. But even though I have followed all the “Home Page Template” directions at http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/stay/ my slider still will not appear. It seems other people have had this same problem, but I am not finding a solution for mine!
Any assistance is appreciated! Thank you.

live demo site http://staydemo.wordpress.com/You will need to follow the instructions to make the theme to look like the one in the demo. The demo is using the “Home page template” which cycles through select top level pages on your site. Create a page called for example “Home” and then set that page as the static front page for your site and create another page fro example “blog” for your posts to appear on.
The front page of the blog by default will display your posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. If you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page. To do that create two pages > http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/ After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

I have the stay theme and have spent hours trying to figure out how I can get my slider on my homepage and not on any other pages! I have the correct featured images and have re-uploaded etc but because my homepage is not in the list of featured pages when I go to customize the stay theme I’m not sure what I can do?
Is there a way to make my homepage a featured page or do I have to go about this another way?I’ve read all the different pages about this theme but can’t find my answer as I do have the slider just not in the right place!
Also to take the slider off my other pages do I just take off the featured image ?

First step is you create a page in Pages > Add New, select the Home template for it, and set the blog front to display this page (in Settings > reading). For the rest see here:

I just tried this again and it is still not working, I already have a home page that has all my latest posts but I don’t need any new pages they are all set to the home template anyway. The slider is still on three of my pages but not on my homepage, I wanted my most recent posts with the slider at the top of the page but this isn’t a static page so do I have to do one or the other but if so how can I add the slider to my home page?

Now my home page has gone and all my latest posts aren’t there and neither is my slider?

You’ve got it all wrong. I’ll skip the rest and focus on this only:

Stay doesn’t work this way: you need a different theme. -
I see now, thanks so much for your help! Even if I just want my slider on my home page, do I just make it a static page? Is there a way to move my latest posts to my blog page at all?

I got my slider on the homepage now thanks so much! Just one last thing is there a way to have it so it is only on my homepage and nowhere else like my links page? And still was looking to find out if I can make my latest posts appear on my blog page sort of like a home page just for my blog?

Apparently you found the answer to this too: you don’t select the “home” template for the other pages, you select the default template.

If you mean slider plus posts on the homepage, I have already answered: not possible on Stay. Possible on all the other themes that feature a slider. As I implied in my previous reply, Stay isn’t the right theme for you.
