Homemade Audio and Video Uploads
-
I have made a wav audio files and and an avi video that I want to upload onto a page on http://www.thecrossfrontier.wordpress.com
The wav files didn’t work, I thought their size might be a problem so I converted them into MP3 using zamzar.com.
Now when I try and upload it, it says the file doesn’t meet security requirements.
The avi upload doesn’t work either. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you paid for
a space upgrade to upload audio files, and /or VideoPress for video files directly to your blog? Here is information about using audio on wordpress (without the upgrade):

I haven’t paid for an upgrade on this blog.
How do I go about uploading MP3 elsewhere on the net before embedding the code back into the blog?
I imagine I can upload the video on Youtube if I sign up. But where do you recommend putting up the audio?

A more private viewer to use for your videos can be found at http://www.gallery.sdnovascotian.ca
or
http://www.vimeo.comYou can just put your audio on an empty movie. Have a title page or what ever and add your audio as a sound track. Windows movie maker is a simple one to use if you do not have program.
I am at this moment looking into how I can implement that very thing on my site. Still looking for a player to use so as to be able to use a url for the music on other sites.
The first reference is my photo gallery site anyone can join. But you are right, I have found it frustrating at times trying to find a similar one for referring just audio. If I get it up and running I will shoot you a message.

I wouldn’t upload my own files to a stranger’s gallery. NOT a good idea. Just get some space at Box.net or fileden or somewhere.

hhhmmmm…
I was going to try Knitvision’s suggestion, the gallery looks ok, but I thought I’d try Raincoaster’s idea first.
With box.net you have to invite other by email to view your files. I just want the audio to be available on a blog page to anyone who can see that page..

I ended up using fileden. Had to put up with a lot of ad and pop ups. But I think I got it to work – at least I think it works. All about the url link. I hope its open.

You need an audio player, not just a link to fileden.
TCF Money Review. English Audio Version (Ludovic A)
TCF Money Review. Audio Version Francaise (Ludovic A)See the basic use of the shortcode here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/
something like this:
[audio http://LINK_TO_YOUR_FILEDEN_FILE.mp3%5DOr try odeo:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/odeo/or try this player:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/soundcloud-audio-player/ -
I’ve tried doing what you said for my English Audio file.
I don’t think it works, let me know:
http://thecrossfrontier.wordpress.com/cultural-reviews/For a start the link doesn’t work.
After clicking on add audio when editing the post, I selected the url tab.
I wrote [audio http://www.fileden.com/browser.php?folder=My%20Documents.mp3%5D
in other words, I added brackets, audio and .mp3 to the functioning url.I’m going wrong somewhere…
