Homepage and Contact Links Switched

  I’m trying to share a link to my blog on Facebook, but the preview comes up as the contact page (which is set to the generic default, even though I edited it). I tried copying the URL for the contact page and that sort of works better, but no preview image appears.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  When you’ve corrected an error or changed an article headline, or when an image is uploaded, it takes Facebook a while to display that new information.

  If you don’t clear the cache, the headline / photo / lack of image at the time of publish will continue to travel on social, until Facebook crawls your site again. To clear the cache, you can use the Sharing Debugger at https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/

  I just cleared the Facebook cache and the Link Preview is now showing your contact page and image. Try again and let me know if it’s correct now.

  That part is correct now, thank you. However, whenever I try to link the home page, it still previews the contact page. How does that part work?

  Hi,

  Are you using SEO Tools on your website? I viewed the page source on your homepage and the Jetpack Open Graph URL is set to https://closetchloecosplay.wordpress.com/contact/
  That needs to be corrected to closetchloecosplay.wordpress.com.

  If you need further assistance, you may want to add the tag “modlook” to the thread since I don’t have access to your site. That way staff will be alerted to your problem and they will respond.

  I’m not, actually. How do I reset the Jetpack Open Graph URL?

  I just added the tag. Hopefully they’ll see it.

  Hi there,

  It appears in your Static Front Page settings, even though you had Latest Posts selected, under the Static Page options you had the contact page selected as your posts page, causing the meta tag for it to still be set.

  I’ve updated those front page settings and ran your URL through Facebook’s debugger again, and it’s showing the correct preview now.
