homepage posts appearance: whole vs. excerpt

  I am using the Vigilance theme and have seen some other Vigilance blogs which on the homepage show only an excerpt of each post, not the whole post. How do I do that? Can’t seem to be able to find anything in the settings.

  You can split text in several ways. The most common is inserting “the more tag” and that’s the one you are looking for. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
