Homepage Slider Image Distorted
-
I would like to have various photos on the homepage slider using the Designfolio theme; however, when I upload the images, both the quality of the image and the area of the photo displayed becomes distorted. How can I make sure that the image quality is high (even when it is enlarged) and crop the photo so that it shows what I want it to show? Thanks!

Hi there, first off due to the shape of the area for the images, they should all be landscape orientation (width wider than height). I see at least two of your images that is portrait orientation (height greater than width), the truck and the container ship. If you find images to replace those that are landscape orientation, they will display much better, or perhaps take those two images into your image editing program and crop them to landscape orientation in the size recommended for Designfolio: minimum of 700px wide by 450px tall.
On the image placement, we can adjust things a bit. Add the following CSS and see what you think.
.flexslider .slides > li { background-position: center; } -
The other thing I might suggest would be to resize your image to around the minimum size recommended for the theme. If you have images that are a lot larger than that, there can be some distortion and loss of quality.

Even if I change the size of the image to the minimum size recommended for the theme, it still shows the images with a bad quality. Any suggestions?

From a CSS standpoint, I don’t see anything that I can do to improve the image quality in the slider.
Since Designfolio is a Premium theme, you have direct access to the theme designer in the Designfolio Support forum. I would suggest discussing this with the theme designer and see what they have to say.
