Horizontal nav bar not updated with new/deleted pages
-
I’m updating our blog to the Coraline theme (the link points to my “test” blog which I use as a sandbox to test my ideas).
I created a new page, and deleted another one. However, the horizontal navigation tabs at the top don’t include the new page, and still include the one I deleted. The Pages widget (which I call “Content”) does correctly show these changes.
The new page is called “About Us”, and the deleted page is “News”.
I tried renumbering the pages, and looked for other options to fix this, all to no avail.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you using the custom menu feature? If so, go to appearance > custom menu and select “Automatically add new top-level pages” in the custom menu module. I’m not sure if the will keep up with page deletes, but it will add new pages to the top level when you create and publish them.

That’s it — thanks! I simply had to delete the custom menu I had created a few weeks ago, and voila all the pages are now in the horizontal nav bar.
It’s very helpful to have a “test” blog or “sandbox” in which to test these features before applying them to the real thing.
Thank you again!

You’re welcome, and I aways work on a test blog and then roll the changes over and into the live blog. In the words of Martha Stewart, “It’s a good thing.”
