Horizontal scroll bar flashes

  • Unknown's avatar

When I’m on my blogs (I have several), the horizontal scroll bar (or slide bar) on the bottom of the screen flashes on and off for several minutes. I don’t know why, or if it’s part of the snow flakes that have mysteriously appeared on my screen while I’m in WordPress (but not actively typing a post.)
Can you tell me what’s going on and how I can stop it?

  • Does it improve if you disable the snow in the Settings section of your blog’s Dashboard?

    Hello, Mac, I’m back.
I do not have the snowfall enabled on any of my blogs. I didn’t see any flashing or snowing on my blogs. However, the bar begins flashing when the snow starts falling when I’m on the Freshly Pressed screen, and I have no idea whatsoever on how to change the settings on THAT.

I like the snow fall, (even though, having grown up in the Rust Belt, I absolutely hate the real stuff). But if it means having the flashing bar, I’d much rather not have the snow at all. It flashes at such a wierd rate that it kind of gives me motion sickness.

I hope Word Press isn’t trying to add gimmicks to ‘tart up’ their website. It rocks all on its own merits, which are many. It doesn’t need gimmicks. Please tell your website wrenches to stop with the gimmicks.

Clarification: In my just posted reply, I said I didn’t see any flashing scroll bar or snowfall on my blogs TODAY. I cannot remember when where I was in the website when I first noticed the flashing.

  • You can disable snow site-wide following the steps in the announcement: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2011/12/01/its-getting-cold-in-here/

    Does that improve the situation?
